If you're using Google Maps, search for "Caribou Ranch Open Space & Trailhead" - other Caribou Ranch listings will lead you astray.

From the traffic circle in downtown Nederland, head toward Ward on CO-72W.  Before you reach Ward you'll see brown park signs saying turn left for Mud Lake Open Space and Caribou Ranch Open Space.  Take this left onto County Road 126.  The road turns to dirt but is well-maintained and doesn't require high clearance.  You'll see the turnoff to Mud Lake first, and then the Caribou Ranch parking lot will be on your right. It's about a 40 minute drive from Boulder.

Now it's time to hike.  Only one trail departs the trailhead:  the DeLonde Trail.  It's pretty flat, and after 1.2 miles it intersects the Blue Bird Loop trail.  Turn right to follow the loop counterclockwise, and in about 0.3 miles you'll be at the DeLonde Barn.  Look for me at the picnic table there.  I'll leave a note if we're off somewhere nearby instead.
